Having studied agriculture at college Matthew started his working life in landscaping, running his own successful business before becoming a private property developer.
His first building project, at the age of just 23, was a large extension and renovation of a run-down agricultural workers cottage on the Hoo Estate in Hertfordshire, thus began his career as a builder.
Matthew's love of building and construction quickly progressed when he bought a redundant barn and transformed it into a stunning four-bedroom new build home in Kinsbourne Green, near Harpenden. On the same site, Matthew subsequently obtained planning permission to convert another barn into a large bespoke home.
The sale of 'The Willows' lead to the purchase of a neighbouring farm where Matthew built a brand new home in the style of a traditional barn complete with full-footprint basement, providing additional bedrooms, games room and wine cellar.
In the years that followed Matthew built three more new build houses, renovated a Grade II listed farm and a large Grade II listed Georgian Property. The quality of his work and attention to detail resulted in repeated requests for his services moving him onto developing properties for private clients and setting up New Space Property.
To date his projects are too many to mention and his work comes from recommendations from clients, structural engineers and architects he has worked alongside for many years.
A father to five grown up children, two of whom have followed him into the industry, and now run their own successful building companies, in his spare time (which is few and far between) Matthew likes to play the odd round of golf and visit the coast in Suffolk.
